Fundraising has always been a challenge but the supporters of Abba Father's House have proven to be very innovative! As a charity, it has been a challenge to adapt to changing financial circumstances as maintaining and improving services for our beneficiaries is critical.

As you know from the news all over the world about the financial crisis, here at AFH we have been going through a rigorous budget process to ensure that we stretch the pound to enable us to continue to provide an adequate service to the children in our care. For that reason we are trying out many projects to enable us raise funds locally. If you would like to join any of the initiatives below, or to financially support them then please get in touch.

Cake sales

We thank God for auntie Maggie who has taken it upon herself to raise funds for the charity through cake sales, sale of widow’ necklaces. She also visit Uganda regularly encourage widows and the staff of AFH to be positive. If you would like to donate a cake or help us in any other way, please contact Maggie on O7734 388 555.

Widow’s Project

Widows are making crafts such as necklaces, money purses, chair backs and jewels for sale. Some of their produce are exported UK for sale. The income generated is used for purchasing further material and the rest is given to the widows to enable them meet some of their needs. The widows are starting production Bombay Mix and pastries etc this season to enable them raise more money. We appeal to friends of AFH to continue supporting us so that we can put smiles on orphans and widow’s faces.

Kiosk

We have recently rented a kiosk in Jinja to enable us have a base for selling our local product such as doughnuts, samosas, pies, crafts and other consumer products in order to raise funds. We still need funding to stock the kiosk but the good news is that it’s up and running and any support will be highly appreciated. Giving a general donation which can be used for the construction of mini projects such as poultry, catering services, tailoring and a medical clinic etc. will enable us to raise funds for our general running.

Chris’s Marathon in France

Once again, Chris Goodwin is dedicating his forthcoming marathon in France to Abba Father’s house. This will give us another opportunity for our supporters to donate generously towards supporting children who have no body else to speak up for them or indeed someone to turn to. The marathon will take place on 5th April. Please donate generously as every little helps to give hope to a poor child who has no body else to turn to.

Musical Concert

Dave and Julia Food have organised 2 musical concerts so far and resources from the concert have made such a great difference in supporting the Charity. The concerts are usually held in UK England around September. Last year’s funds have been used to pay for installation of electricity plus meeting some of the home needs. We believe that God will enable Dave and Julia to do the same this year. We will be very grateful to hear from you with ideas to help us raise funds and also for your generous donations.
