Jamie Davies of Dimension Data UK and his fiancée Charlene are on a journey from London to Cape Town that will change their lives and they hope, the lives of the orphans and widows, at Abba Father's House in Jinja, Uganda forever.
After 3 years of planning and preparation, Jamie and Charlene finally departed the UK in their Land Rover "Maggie" on the 16th December ‘07, setting off on a year long Nomad-Adventure before getting married in Cape Town.
As well as spending the next year exploring and discovering some of the real treasures Africa has to offer:
"exploring woodlands and mountains, wiggling toes in the sand, tasting the salty spray off the oceans waves, seeing and being in the presence of gorilla's in Rwanda, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, canoeing down the Okavango delta and simply just living for the moment" …
Jamie and Charlene want to give something back to Africa.
"Miles for Smiles":
Abba Father's House is a small Christian Charity formed out of a labour of love to create a home for Orphans, especially those who have lost their parents as a result of AIDS. Jamie and Charlene have chosen to help raise funds for Abba Father’s House through the “Miles for Smiles” campaign.
We will follow Jamie and Charlene every mile of the way from the UK in December 2007 to Abba Father's House in June 2008, monitoring the miles traveled VERSUS the money raised, bringing smiles to all of the children there.
How you can help?
