Juliet's Report From Uganda |
Sunday, 04 October 2009 |
Greetings from Uganda. Thank you for your prayers and support, the trip went well generally and I was in good health for all the while I was in Uganda. On Easter Friday, I arrived at Entebbe Airport unannounced to begin my long working Holiday in Uganda. I was privileged to temporarily reside at the Centre in Jinja - Uganda where I met the children, the staff, and committee members in order to acknowledge the good work carried out since 2006 and to acquaint myself with the local community and issues thereby.

Snakes, no longer a major problem |
Sunday, 25 January 2009 |
Good news; the forest which used to house nesting snakes has been removed and a new building is being constructed in our neighbourhood. This has put and end to our worry of snakes that was a major threat to the lives of our young people and to our poultry. We take this opportunity to thank those of you who prayed for us. Another building is also being constructed in the nearby area intended for providing sports activities to young people. Mpumudde village is beginning to be developed thank God.

Maggie Goodwin’s 3rd Mission Trip to Uganda |
Sunday, 25 January 2009 |
Auntie Maggie arrived in Uganda on 20th January for 2 weeks for children’s ministry trip. She will be carrying out a children’s seminar in Jinja from 27th – 29th January. About 80 children including those from the local neighbourhood have been invited to attend, and we trust that they will benefit from a range of activities including sports, arts, spiritual, practical and general education. Maggie aims to empower children to be good Samaritans in the local area. She will also meet with the widows to support their project work.

Updates on the September 2008 Musical Fundraising Concert |
Sunday, 25 January 2009 |
We are pleased to inform you that we raised £1,500 from the musical fundraising concert held in September 2008. We would like to take this opportunity to thank every one who participated in the occasion for your financial and practical generosity. The funds raised have been used to pay for installation of electricity and we are just waiting for the electricity board in Jinja to do their part. The rest of the funds will go towards improving the bakery. Our gratitude goes to Dave and Julia Food and friends who successfully organised the event.
